Nutrition is one of the top concerns in the NICU. Breast milk provides important energy that infants need, along with DHA and ARA fatty acids that aid in the development of the baby's brain and eyes. Human milk is also essential in the formation of a healthy immune system. Unfortunately, micro preemies often need more than just their mother's milk to thrive.
